Description

Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone who has dabbled with programming and coding we are here to support you. Our focus is on having fun while integrating Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko into your classroom programme.

Join Joanne Roberts and explore how to integrate digital technologies and computational thinking into curriculum areas and gain an understanding of the fundamentals of programming using age appropriate programming languages. This will be delivered fully online and is responsive to participants’ needs.

Each session will start with 30 minutes of directed, live, video-to-video learning. Participants will be given digital resources to support learning to code in Scratch and Joanne will stay online until 5.30pm each session to answer any questions.

These sessions run fortnightly on Wednesday's from 4.00pm to 5.30pm.

  • Session 1 - Wednesday 6 May
  • Session 2 - Wednesday 20 May
  • Session 3 - Wednesday 3 June
  • Session 4 - Wednesday 17 June

This meetup will be delivered in English however the content will be really beneficial to kura Māori also. We invite all Māori Medium kaiako to attend as the skills and knowledge covered in these sessions are relevant to Māori Medium contexts.
